Who’s Ready for Football Season?

There’s something about football season that just feels like fall. The sound of the game playing in the background, something good cooking in the kitchen, team colors everywhere, and at least one person yelling at the television like the coach can actually hear them. Whether you’re counting down to Saturday college football or settling in for Sunday afternoon games, football season has a way of bringing people together.

And really, the game is only part of it.

Football season means tailgates, chili simmering on the stove, wings and dips covering the kitchen counter, sweatshirts coming out of the closet, and friendly rivalries suddenly becoming very serious business. It’s inviting friends and family over, claiming your favorite spot on the couch and convincing yourself that wearing the same lucky shirt every week is absolutely helping your team win.

Here in Michigan, football and fall seem to go hand in hand. As September rolls along, the evenings start getting cooler, the leaves slowly begin changing, and weekends take on that familiar game-day feel. From high school football under the Friday night lights to college football Saturdays and the pros on Sunday, there’s usually a game somewhere worth watching.

Of course, everyone has their own football traditions. Some people head to the stadium and tailgate for hours before kickoff. Others would much rather stay home with a big pot of chili, a comfortable couch and instant replay. Some families have recipes they make every game day, while others have a favorite jersey, seat or superstition they refuse to mess with.

And then there are the people who don’t particularly care who wins but are completely committed to showing up for the snacks. We respect those people too.

Football season is really about those little traditions that make a house feel like home. It’s gathering in the living room, squeezing a few extra chairs around the TV, opening the door to friends and family and making memories—whether your team wins, loses or gives you a reason to question every decision made in the fourth quarter.

So grab the blankets, break out the team gear, start planning the game-day menu and get comfortable.

Football season is here.

The only question is: Who are you cheering for? 🏈
